Age Distribution by Race

Information used to create the age pyramid is collected from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey 5-year estimates. The age pyramid shows the percent of total population in Collier County, broken down by race and ethnicity.

When looking at race, the white alone population tends to skew older, with 55.5 percent at least 55 years old. On the other hand, the black alone population skews younger, with 50.4 percent under 35 years of age. A similar distribution can be seen between the Hispanic and non-Hispanic populations, with 57.8 percent of the non-Hispanic population over 55 years old and 51.8 percent of the Hispanic population under 35 years.
