Quarterly Job Postings by Occupation

Quarterly job postings for Collier County are obtained from Help Wanted OnLine (HWOL) and were accessed through Lightcast. Unique job postings represent the total number of job postings for the specified occupation within the quarter. Furthermore, hourly advertised median wages (when provided in the job posting) for those occupations are also available.

Lightcast applies a deduplication process across publicly available online job boards and company websites to identify and remove duplicate listings. Their two-step approach results in up to 80 percent of all jobs collected being deduplicated.

Lastly, Lightcast uses an education and training assignments crosswalk provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to match occupations with typical education needed for entry, work experience in a related occupation, and the typical on-the-job training needed to attain competency in the occupation.

Collier County had 15,660 unique job postings during the 1st quarter of 2024. Occupations with the most job postings included retail salespersons (662 postings, $16.55 hourly advertised median wage), registered nurses (656 postings, $37.29 hourly advertised median wage), and waiters and waitresses (492 postings, $15.63 hourly advertised median wage).
